NEW HOPE YMCA 9&10 YR OLD BASKETBALL

Ok, family, here are some good pictures to print out! We didn't have pictures made so you won't see them in your Christmas cards. :( The basketball was a "money" basketball Brent got from Larry & Linda for Christmas. HINT: You can't go wrong buying Brent a ball for a present!

After our last game, I realized the team never took pictures. I grabbed the camera and put him beside the fence. Turned out good didn't it?

This is Brent's favorite picture. He gets a kick seeing himself in the air & reaching for the ball. Boy, isn't he a hoot?

Caught 'cha! He was in the process of doing a backwards "granny" shot!

He's trying his best to get dribbling under control. Of course, he has to stick his tongue out for "good luck" ...so he says. LOL

Brent has decided he wants to play basketball again next year. I'm glad he has found another sport he can play along with baseball.

Brent's final shot.

BEAUTY PAGEANT

Pageant practice. I didn't know it at the time, but Jessica (7th grade), the blonde beside her (6th grader), & the 2 brunettes (7th graders) on her other side are 4 girls who got the TOP 10. Kind of neat.

Traditional family picture. We have made it a tradition to make a family picture at every pageant Jessica participates in. (hmmm..I know 2 people who need a diet..quick!)

Group competition before Jessica (The crowd had their eye on the second girl from the right/pink dress & the girl in the white) (I didn't get a picture of the 1st group competition -where the winner & other girls chosen for the top 10 were located)

Jessica's group competition. (She was worried about the girl in the blue beside her.)

Jessica's group competition

Group Competiton (Last group before they pick the top ten. After they pick the top ten, the girls will do another entry on stage by themselves, and then the whole group will be on stage before the crowning.)

Jessica is making her entry on stage for the judges.

Jessica is trying to smile big for the judges. I wish we could see her face instead of her hair.

Jessica did a great job!

TOP 10 beauties and beaus

They picked Jessica for 4th Alternate. She's waited 7 long years for this moment!

(BEFORE) Ok, Jessica, we're here. It's time to go inside and have your braces taken OFF!

(After) Jessica is back and look at her teeth. Before the braces, Jessica had a space between her front teeth and some of the others.

WOW! Jessica, your teeth look great! (She had the braces on for two years.)

NEW HOPE MIDDLE SCHOOL CHEERLEADER

This was Jessica's first day to wear her uniform to school. This was a very proud moment. All the years of dreaming to be a school cheerleader has come true for her and it was a sight to behold! (She & Brent were waiting for the bus)

In December, the varsity (pink shirts) and Juniors (black shirts) went to NATIONAL competition in Nashville, TN. The cheerleaders are saying a prayer after their arrival. JESSICA is the first girl(black shirt) you see to the right - standing beside the one w/ the backpack. Remember, she's only 13 standing beside (pink shirts) seniors/juniors/sophomores in highschool!

This picture was taken in Clinton, MS after we won the 4A State Championship! Jessica is the first one on the right side, back row.

The Junior High cheerleaders got to cheer at the 2004 homecoming. I'm sure this was "nerve-racking" because in this picture, they were cheering in front of the high-school student section.

Jessica's first year of New Hope cheerleading

Year 2004 - 2005 * New Hope Junior Varsity Cheerleaders * We have 28 girls on our squad this year. Normally, there are only 20, but the 9th grade had to cheer with the JUNIOR HIGH. That's why we were called the Junior Varsity.

1. Can you find Jessica? (Top row, on the left) We had a lot of blondes.

2. This was a fun pose! ALL the girls were taking their shoes off for individual shots.

3. Get in this position and count to 10 real slow. OUCH!

4. The way she's holding her hands remind me of a Barbie

5. This is Jessica's favorite

The Jokisch Family

The Jokisch Family consist of Bruce, Brenda, Brandi, Brent, Brianne, and Brewster(the dog), and a few in-laws and grandkids. The pictures below are ancient, but I love looking at them. However, I'm not sure about Brewster. Is he still around? * I need someone to leave comments or send me email about NEW info with names and hopefully pictures! (like group shots)! WHO'S RELATED TO WHO?? My father-in-law, Larry Pyle, has 2 sisters - Brenda Jokisch and LaDonna Gard. Larry and LaDonna moved, but Brenda continues to live across the street from the parents, Lawrence and Betty Pyle, (STEVE'S GRANDPARENTS). Actually, the ones who started the whole thing! LOL

Brent Jokisch - 1997 his Senior year. This is an older picture of him. Today, he has his own family!

Brianne Jokisch - 1997 her seventh grade year. Since school, Brianne had interviews a few years ago for Sports Illustrated! YOU GO GIRL!

Last Year in Third Grade

1) Brent had to stand up in front and read this to his MERIT class. On his index card, he wrote on both sides, but he chose to read this one. Boy, am I glad!

2) This picture was taken last year by his MERIT teacher as part of a project. The kids in the class had to write about themselves and then the teacher put the index cards in a small photo album with the pictures!

3) This is the backside of the index card that Brent had to write on. I guess he couldn't make up his mind which one to read to the class!

My Cool Younger Brother

Tommy is sporting a look in his favorite name brand, Tommy Hilfiger. You think it's the name? LOL

Tommy (pictured below w/ Brent), John, & my parents came over for Brent's birthday POOL PARTY & cookout. I'm not sure if it was taken 2003 or 2004. (sorry)
