A picture of Steve on the phone in front of the Archives building. Notice the giant doors behind Steve. This isn't the way you entered, but it is the front. Beside Steve is Lebo Davis and Zach Barrett.

This is the view that the President sees when he looks out the front of the White House. Notice the yellow thing at the bottom of the picture. That is a foreign lady protesting the "system".

The White House
This is the front of the White House. This side is closer to the fence than the backside. In the picture, they just turned on the front porch light. Notice the flag on top...when the flag is flying, the President is inside the building. When the flag is down, he is away.

The inside top of the dome of the Capital. If you turn the picture clockwise, you can see George Washington sitting down with a blanket on his lap with angels beside him. Every picture represents someone or something.

Inside the Capital.
We were able to take this picture with Jefferson Davis, from Mississippi. Each state had elected a person to be honored in the Capital.

Standing on the huge oversized "back porch" of the Capital, you can look out at the Washington Monument and behind it is the Lincoln Memorial. To the left of the Monument is the Jefferson Memorial and to the right of the monument (where the helicopter is flying) is the White House.

Our tour of the Capital.
They started us across the street and then they walked us to the Capital UNDERGROUND! We got to walk through one of the many tunnels that lead to the different buildings. The guide said that almost every building has tunnels linking each other.

This was our first time on the Metro (the subway system in Washington). Who went?? Steve, Brent, Jessica, Me, Cassie Brown(to the left of Jessica), Victorian Tilley(Cassie's daughter), James & Chris Hardin w/Blair and Blake, and Jennifer Brantley and her daughter. We took the Metro to see the Pentagon. We couldn't go inside the Pentagon, but we had fun outside. We walked around the outside of it, got in trouble for taking pictures, and we were probably being watched out of every window and camera. We got to see where the plane crashed into the building. You could see where it landed because the concrete was a different color compared to the older concrete. When we were leaving, a large planter caught on fire from a cigarette butt. A guard was walking towards us and we told him about it. He got on top of a 4 ft planter and began stomping out the flames coming out of the mulch. Victorian Tilley got a picture while he was saying, "No. No. No pictures can be taken." He was too busy putting out the fire and listening to us to stop Victorian. It was the highlight of the day. To find out we were the only ones out of the New Hope group who had adventured out that far. When everyone heard about it, they did the same thing the next few days.
