Wanda Sumner And Grandkids - (Steve's mom)
Summer 2004 - I think this photo was taken after Wanda, "Nanna", took the grandkids to the movies. Madison came home from Utah to visit for 1 or 2 weeks. (I can't remember how long she was here in the photo.)

Family Vacation - July 2004
Panama City Beach, Florida - The summer of 2004 we started our trip by visiting my parents, Mark and Bettye Meadows, in Diamondhead, MS. They moved there May 2004. We stayed there for 2 days, and then we were off for Panama City. Once we arrived, we checked in the resort and immediately headed to an amusement park. We met our friends, Randall and Tammy Forrester and there two kids, Hillary and Ryan. There was plenty of things to do including "renting mopeds". On one excursion, Randall, Steve, and myself rented mini-choppers (motorcycles) and the rest of the crew rented a suped-up golf cart.
VACATION July 2004 - We went to MIRACLE STRIP and we learned this was the last summer for it to be open. A multi-million dollar mall & hotel bought the property.

JANUARY IS FULL OF BIRTHDAYS!
Let's see...on January 1st, Linda Pyle had her 54th birthday. On January 18th, Marisa had her ____ birthday. (We currently don't know her age.) On January 22nd, Fred Sumner, had his 54th birthday. In the month of January, three of my aunts had birthdays and one of my cousins had an anniversary. If you're reading this and you're not mentioned, SEND ME YOUR INFO BY EMAIL! At the last minute, Marisa and myself decided to cook Fred a nice Sunday lunch. It was nice having everyone over...especially when FOOD brings us together! I overcooked my first batch of chicken, and Marisa checked with her dad, "Ski", to find out some chicken cooking facts for me. Thanks, Ski!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO FRED, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

A BLAST FROM THE PAST
In May 2004, baseball season had arrived, and once again, Steve was coaching Brent's team. This year was different because this was Brent's first time to play "real" baseball. I say "real baseball" because in the Dixie Youth League the kids pitched and the kids played with a hard core baseball. This was also the year Brent was introduced as a PITCHER and his alternate position was SECOND BASE. As extra practice and for fun, Brent was part of our school's baseball camp while playing "PARK BALL". He had only been to camp 1 day & that night he got hurt. It was getting dark and the driveway spotlight had come on while Brent was doing some batting practice. He was hitting a baseball that was attached to a piece of plastic. The plastic was held in place by the "bungee cord" and the cord was velcroed to the basketball goal. Everything was fine until his bat hit the hard plastic. Immediately, the bat richocheted off the plastic and got him in the eye. I SAW THE WHOLE THING & I THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO LOSE HIS EYE. He continued to go to camp the next day with one eye swollen shut & wearing a bandage. All the boys & the coaches thought he looked cool.
OUCH!! This is a good picture of his black-eye. You can see the stitches on his brow. This picture was taken a few days after it happened. He had to wear a bandage across his eye for 2-3 days & his eye is beginning to open. (May 2004)

Brent's BLACK-EYE is looking much better in this picture! In the picture, you can see his eye & that's a good sign. (May 2004)

Brent is the player to the far right. His position in this game was 2nd base, and he was "backing up" the short stop.

Home Alone, THE DANGEROUS KIND!
In July 2004, we drove our great dane to Tupelo, MS to be resold to original owners. Jasamine was recovering from me, Mom, running over her with the Expedition. (She miraculously lived w/o broken bones!) We left Jasamine in the laundry room due to her coming home from surgery, having stitches, and a drain tube in one shoulder. Jasamine was not a happy camper being HOME ALONE. She destroyed my laundry room, and she is now known as "Jasamine, The Destroyer" . When we got home, looking from the kitchen I could see dogfood under the door of the laundry room. This was not a good sign. Steve came with me to check on her, but the door was jammed. We put our weight on the door to open it and the door opened about 4 - 5 inches. It was a nightmare. She pulled things down from places my kids couldn't reach. Things on the floor were my Tide detergent (which was located on top of the washing machine), the iron upside down (dripping water), all my art projects, feather boas, ripped 50 lb. bag of dogfood, books, etc. My clutter that I kept so tidy in the laundry room was in one pile on the floor. Jasamine was sitting in an area about 18 inches in diameter, of course, wagging her tail like nothing happened.
Meet Jasamine, the black labrador from "Tasmania". (JUST KIDDING!!)
